My experience here was horrible!!!! The waiter got everyones drink order except mine. Not only once but twice. I had to get his attention both times. The food was absolutely disgusting! I got jojo's with my chicken & they were just potato wedges with absolutely NO breading. Had ZERO flavor! I would NOT recomend the New Era to anyone. If I was able to give no stars I would.

My grandpa took me here when I was a little girl. Homemade chicken paprikosh. Homemade cheese strudle. The food is amazing. Reasonably priced. Clean relaxing atmosphere.
Heather Smoot
The chicken livers are the best. The chicken Paprikash is fantastic. The apple strudel is also fantastic The service is also great.
Tim Fury
Very nice place, great service! Had our company party here and they were extremely accommodating!
Matthew Dale
Chicken paprikash was very watery and the strudel was stale. Really the best part of the meal was the side salad, but it cost extra to have a salad in place of a less healthy side.Wasn't a bad meal necessarily, and the waitress was very friendly. I just am not likely to be back.

Modern, family run restraunt specializing in Eastern European foods. We especially like the chicken paprikash and the stuffed cabbage rolls. You get a complete meal at a price a family can afford. (If you're a soccer fan, the full service bar in the other half of the building will usually have the big games on the screen)

An Akron landmark. Always a great meal.
Greg Humston
The goulash was great! Huge portion, good friendly service.
Cindy Dumire
Great food. Large selection. Excellent and fast service for our group of 22 people

First time. Food was good. Stuffed pepper, mashed, and dumplings. Was surprised the dumplings were in a hot sauce. Not usually my thing, but I liked them. Service was friendly and quick. I will go back.

The same great food year after year. Service is good and friendly also.

Ordered the pork chops, waited for close to 30 minutes and they came out burnt and so tough they couldn't even be chewed. The 2 stars I gave is for the waitress being very nice about everything and taking money off our bill. On a good note, their bread is very good and so is the Cole slaw.

I grew up eating alot of the food they serve. It's like home sweet home cooking. I Love it.
Susan Craft

Nice Hungarian restaurant on Akron's east side. Family feel to the restaurant, and the food had a home cooked taste to it. We had the chicken paprikas and strudel, and also the cabbage rolls. Great comfort food on a rainy Saturday night. Nothing fancy or modern, just a nice family neighborhood restaurant.

This place has homemade food made from scratch. This takes you to back in the day with older guys hanging out telling stories while drinking coffee. Definitely would go back for the chicken paprikash.

Food was good once I got it. I went in solo and sat at a booth for almost 20min before I was greeted by my server. She thought I was someone else's table and continued to sit in a near by booth playing on her phone. I won't go back, the 3 stars are for the cook

Amazing food and they sometimes have live music. When I went it was the local VFW or something and it was...uhh...more akin to a middle school band. Still entertaining though.
Matt Johnson
It is always wonderful live over an hour away and me and my wife are always finding a good reason to make the drive. Great food reminds me of my grandmas cooking and the service is always awsome

I LOVE New Era. If all you are in the mood for is a cheeseburger...theirs are fantastic. But, it is the food I usually associate with Slavic Village in Cleveland that I am in love with. And, its in Akron!! Once a week they have City Chicken. Their Chicken Pap is fantastic as well. Actually, all of their weekly specials are what are to die for. Great ethnic food in Akron.

First ever visit was over 30 years ago. Was delicious then and still the best paprika. Tonight was the first visit since the last first visit. Still the best. Love the cheese strudel as well.

This is a landmark restaurant, has been here for over 50 years that I know of. They're known for their chicken paprikash, which is what I ordered. It was excellent. It's like stewed chicken with dumplings with this amazing broth. Everything is made from scratch. My husband got the pork chops. Very good! They have a big menu to select from. All of the staff was very friendly. I highly reccomend this place.
Shelly Czech
Love the food at this place. I especially love Mondays when they have cream chicken and biscuits
Rick Davis
Great Slavic influence with traditional American dinners. All of the chicken dishes are excellent, especially the roasted chicken and the chicken paprikash.
Chandler Jernigan
They are a very friendly family restaurant that serves large plates of absolute deliciousness. This is an amazing place and great business.

Did not enjoy the food but customer service was good

Food was ok. Says Serbian food here, but online, it says Hungarian. They served Spanish rice with my Hungarian entree. Everything was satisfactory.

Nice, clean,friendly.. ....the special for the day made me think , is it the Special of the day because they just made it today or is it because they need to get rid of it it was not something I would order again (cabbage rolls/Salisbury steak) dinners.. sorry it's all about the flavor, bland.
